Yes, I'm new. Can we please have a morning glory forum? Anybody else want one? Smiling Arum

While I do like morning glories, I don't think that that will happen. Maybe someone else will be along to address this subject soon.

Linda, thank you for your comment, I don't really expect it to happen, though it would be nice. My passion in the garden is growing Mg's. I have so many kinds. Is there a vine forum here? Another site has a vine forum, but not a MG one, There is a lot of discussion about them though. Smiling

We do have morning glories in the database and you can post comments and photos to those entries, and others can see them and reply to them making threads. So in a sense we have a place for morning glories at ATP.

Is an entire forum warranted? Well, in the past 3 days only Linda has replied. I'd say that this is not at all a sufficient amount of interest to make a forum.

Feel free to discuss these kinds of plants in our All Things Gardening forum, which is a general purpose forum and definitely post your favorites to our database.

I do sort of wonder if a Vines forum might be appropriate, tho.

Vines and Climbers, maybe Woofie. I am suddenly overwhelmed with the number of climbers I have and have searched for creative ways to make them happy, while at the same time keeping me happy too.

I've looked in various forums for things that might work with different vines, but that's bouncing back and forth among forums. Might be a good idea if we had them all in one place.

But then there are my climbing roses and my clematis, and now I have gloriosas, though they are more like clingers - and my hyacinth bean vine and morning glories - but the list goes on. Upward and onward, I guess.

And the wisteria is beginning to bloom.

Can I vote for a Vines and Climbers forum, too? I realized, this spring, that I am rapidly being overrun (started way too many last fall). I am always the pessimist when starting plants and sowing seeds (I assume a high mortality rate) and then I am always overwhelmed (but happy) 6 months later when everyone has survived and are flourishing!

Seriously, though, a forum dedicated to Vines and Climbers would be great as there are a significant number of plants that fall into that category, imho.

Dave,
I'm wondering if you can place these articles somewhere on the new forum home page so they can be easily found? There are more, I'm sure, but these just came to mind.

Is there a place where it is announced when a new forum is added?
If not I think it would be a good Idea , maybe in the front page somewhere for a week or so . I don't think everyone checks the sight talk area , at least I don't especially during gardening season.
Maybe the news letter ?

just an idea?

Thank you all, and especially Dave for the Vines forum. JMG's are so beautiful,It will be fun discussing and viewing pictures with others. Of course their are other vines that are just great to have in the garden, like Hyacinth Bean, Scarlet Runner Bean, Clematis ,Moon-vine,(just another kind of MG) etc.... Smiling Arum

A perfect solution! Good suggestion, Sharon! Thanks, Dave! I have quite a few plants that are vines and climbers also.

Other than this forum we don't have a specific place. I'll put it in the newsletter - thanks for that suggestion!

Not everyone subscribes to the newsletter. For instance, I don't. I spend 8+ hours/day on ATP (you're one of my home pages on firefox), and didn't want the additional traffic to any of my several inboxes. And for some reason, I don't always see the FB posts, although I *do* see the ones that tell me ATP is friends with someone.

So it would be nice to have some type of announcement area on the home page as well. Just my 2 cents (not even enough to buy bubble gum anymore, let alone coffee) Hilarious!
