Thread OP
Illinois (Zone 5a)
I have a pot that has 4 Cathedral plants in it (First set of PiX) & another (unsure of name - 2nd set of pix) that is just getting tall. I live in the Midwest (Illinois) and have to move plants in and out twice a year. This is getting to be a lot of work as they are hard to handle and navigate to basement. I am wondering besides separating them (the Cathedrals) could they be cut off to be shorter? Can the other cactus be cut to make more plants, or leave it alone? I am not sure how old they are as I inherited from my dad
Thank you for any advice :)

Yes, those euphorbias should be easily propagated by cuttings, just cut any section that you want ( 8 inch will be a decent size), let the cuttings air dry and callused over in a bright shade area ( 5 days to 2 months, whenever you like Smiling ), then plant the cuttings in a gritty soil mix, don't water them in the first 10 days, then gradually give them small amount of water like once a week when the soil completely dry. You can have a lot of cuttings from those 2 plants, just try with 1 or 2 pieces to experience the process.

For the first photo of the lactea, instead of cutting 1 section, you can also cut like 2 to 3 inches below the line /wire that you use to tie the plant. Then you will have a nice big green clump of new plant.
If they look healthy, do nothing

In general I find cacti are easy to propergate. If in doubt I use some cinnimon to heal wound but it does not seem necessary,
Plants are like that little ray of sunshine on a rainy day.
