Well, the squirrel doesn't help identify the problem with the impatiens.
Unless you suspect they are digging them up.

Where are you planting?
Full sun?
In shade garden?
In pots?
How moist is the soil?
Impatiens are moisture hogs, and seem better suited to the shade garden.

Times are approaching when my Impatience are starting to dwindle. That being the case, does that mean they can potentially impact or infect others??

Wally, could you post photos of them? Could you define "dwindle?"

If your impatiens are dying from excess sun, heat or lack of water they will not affect other plants. If they have a disease or fungus, yes possibly, depends on what disease, what the other plants are and how close they are. If it's insects, depends on what else they like to eat. With photos maybe we can figure it out.
