I have been delighted with several new plants: Monica Marie, Chicago Apache, Optical Delight, Siloam Royal Prince, Mountain Almond, Insider Trading, Grecian Gown, Bonnie Corley are among them. But I was especially surprised and pleased with the performance of Willow Dean Smith. I planted it on April 27, and it has bloomed and rebloomed like a champ in its first season. Every bloom has been perfect, and it hasn't shown a speck or rust, either.
WDS is now one of my favorites.

Thanks to Char, Money Maker was the biggest new hit for me this year.
Started blooming Jul 8th with 3 scapes, then sent/sending up another 3 scapes so it is a rare day I go without at least 1 bloom on it.
It is a little Energizer bunny. It even had time to make me a proliferation.

Ahoya was also a fave. It multiplies like crazy, and its flowers are gorgeous. Smallish scapes so great for front of the border.

One of my best 1st year bloomers is Dragon Rainbow. Technically though, not it's 1st year. I got it spring 2021, it tried to bloom last year but the buds never opened. It bloomed well, then rebloomed even better. Has added fans too. Another good one was Sparkling Giants. For some reason my pictures are not posting?

This has been one heck of a summer for us. Temperatures consistently in the triple digits since the first of June. Any daylily that meets that head on is a winner in my book. Great Goodness Gracious put out its first sunfast/colorfast bloom the first of June and was still blooming the first of August. I counted at least 5 rebloom scapes with another one coming on. I call it Cheddar Cheese on Steroids, but it's real name is:

It has been a year of amazing fluffy pinks and blush daylilies, and I agree with you about Willow Dean Smith, Nan. She almost gets my first prize, but I have been even more wowed by Grand Pacific. I got her last spring but she saved up her energy to put on a big show this year. The blooms just keep coming! Rebloom is branchier and is still going strong. I can't pass her without taking a picture. Lovely substance, gentle ruffles, round form which I like. Her edge-no-eye is rendered with enough delicate and smooth coloration to be feminine but light enough to be refreshing. Enchanting variations in color between blooms adds interest. Despite all the other seductive new-to-me cultivars this year, she's the winner! I give her 9 out of 10, so here are 9 pictures...

That's really pretty!

My big producer this summer was Evermore Teeth, which was planted Spring 2021 but waited to bloom until this summer. It bloomed June 30 to August 8, I counted 108 blooms and that doesn't include the week and a half that I wasn't around. That was from 4 fans.

Another super strong one that was planted in 2021 is Vampire Slayer. It's been blooming consistently since July 15, most days in multiples and still has buds left on it as of today ( August 12).

Nan, so glad that Willow Dean Smith has been a nice addition for you. It sounds wonderful.

Those are some impressive stats on Evermore Teeth, Zoia!

Justine, Grand Pacific is gorgeous!

I am out on the patio now, so don't have pictures available, but I was very impressed with Panic in Detroit, which I got last year. Tall, sturdy scapes with a large, orange bloom.

I was totally blown away by the performance of one new cultivar this season: Wanda Rutkiewicz
Thumb of 2022-08-13/Nightlily/31601f

got 2 fans in spring, 3 scapes emerged with some days distance in between, every single flower was perfect and this although the plant was potted and it was very hot and dry during the flowering period (a full month - flowers every day). I've never seen such an impressing performance on any daylily before.

A real masterpiece - created in Poland.

Another really impressing one was Fried Green Tomatoes - only one fan obtained as a gift, a huge scape emerged, about 20 nearly perfect flowers opened then:

Arriving in fall of 2021, this daylily was a knockout in the garden this year. Putting up several tall--for us--scapes with giant flowers in a spring that was too hot and dry, it was amazing and it even did a few rebloom scapes which sealed the deal. We can only wonder what it would have done in a "normal" growing season.

I don't have a photo uploaded for

And she gets "best new daylily 2022". Spring arrival and planting and put up a scape this summer. Was a rebloom scape, cuz she came with a nipped scape- so she was well grown at her other home, and settled in well here.
Lower bud count, shorter scape- but I was amazed that she bloomed at all.

Yes, I've got it directly from his field this spring. I will try to get some other of his beautiful relief cultivars - and some of the toothy ones (should be similar in quality).
