thank you for sharing this

It reminded me of an art form called Kintsutsi
the Japanese put broken pottery together with gold
The idea is about embracing flaws and imperfections, creates a more beautiful piece if art.

Flaws can be beautiful Smiling

That is interesting. I shall have to research that.

I love the sentiment. If we embrace flaws and imperfections, it makes life so much better. Thanks for sharing this and reading the blog.

Very interesting, that type of repair is new to me. Some of the repaired pieces are exquisite.

Over the years I have seen "married" pieces of furniture. In the early days, it meant something different from todays culture. In those days, a married piece was using two pieces of furniture to make one. That took skill and talent as well. Today it simply means taking a piece of furniture and adding something to give it a different use. Artsy but not quite the same.

Regarding Kintsugi, it brings to mind to old expression I heard when young.... "Use It Up, Wear It Out, Make it Do, or Do Without".
Certainly a lost art these days.

Thanks again...
