Howdy,
We have an Autumn Moon Dwarf Maple tree which was planted in June, and is about 50 tall. It has been healthy all summer and done well. Some leaves always exhibited browning on the tips of the leaves, but we thought that was a heat issue. Very recently the top limbs had some dead leaves. That has now quickly moved downward, and the upper center area is brown. The lower leaves and mid level leaves look normal. We originally sprayed it with a copper fungicide, but more recently I did see white fly on a few deadish leaves. We would like to know what this affliction is, and how to solve the problem. Ideas ????
Thanks,
CS

Japanese Maples never look good at the end of summer but...
When a tree browns from the top down, it's a sign it needs more water.

You might be causing some burn with the fungicide sprays also. JMs are very sensitive. Stop spraying, start watering.
