This just showed up, have had this Alocasia elephant ear planted for about 3-4 years now...our first one. From what i understand we should remove it from the plant as they start to die so as not to bother the original plant. When dry, I will moisten until roots appear then plant the new ones. Anyone else done this??? Thanks for all the help in this matter.

They are ripe so you can remove them now. The red berry is the fruit. The actual seed is indies. You need to take the seed out of the fruit and sow them on a bed of damp moss. Keep moist. New plants will form

Very nice for your first seed pod. If you haven't done anything with it yet I could give you some tips. I've been growing these alocasias for 30 plus years from seeds and pulps. Be glad to share anything I know about them.
