I bought this plant off the LA and planted it Fall 2021. By Spring 2022, it had disappeared. I never saw a bloom.

Oh, poor Doyle Pierce. I've had this one since 2015 and it has struggled. It did bloom that year, but I am assuming it did not do anything in 2016, 2017, or 2018, because I have no pictures of it.

In 2019, I got a few pictures of blooms, but it still didn't do much and the blooms were either splotchy or misshapen. This is the best I got of it that year.

As far as increase, I probably got a double fan of it in 2015 and in the spring of this year it had only increased to 8 fans. I've seen very few blooms that open symmetrically. The sepals seem to be dimpled or pointed (not sure how to describe it, but you can see it in the pictures). And usually it will have one petal sticking out and the others recurved.

6/24/21 - Doyle Pierce definitely is showing off its Lavender Blue Baby genetics with that washed eye and coloring. Sometimes the color is nicely saturated, but that rarely happens.

7/12/2022 - Branching and bud count is pretty low and my plant has never reached the 34" height it is supposed to. The coloring can look like a muddy lavender-pink sometimes.

To be honest, I think the only reason I kept it is because it is a Lavender Blue Baby kid and I like that cool lavender tone that it has. But I really can't find too much good to say about this one. It has 52 kids of its own, so someone must have thought it was worthy to use as a parent.
