The plant looks great, does not look like it needs re-potting.

I agree, you need to wait at least until spring, it should start some buds soon. Mine are all starting some buds, they're outdoors. They don't mind staying in the same pot for years, not a lot of roots to them.

I'll 4th that. Now is the time for buds to start forming. As long as it is not in a room with bright lights on when it is dark outside, buds should form.

Agreed, would not repot it. It looks fine in that size pot.

And I do believe that is actually a Thanksgiving cactus, not a Christmas cactus.

Agree that it's Schlumbergera truncata.

The nickname is a matter of personal preference. Always tagged as "Christmas cactus" at store, that I've seen.

Best luck with it! I'm starting to see some buds on some of mine, and have seen some people post pics of open blooms already.
