I had to fight through Tropical Storm Nicole wind and rain, but I got my seeds mailed this morning! Postage fees have gone up since I signed up for the swap so I included more than the $9.00 fee. I can't wait to get my seeds! Thanks again to Libby and to all that participated! Hurray! Thumbs up

Our roads are in a state of extreme danger right now (ice all over, and a blizzard is supposed to happen), so we can't get to the postal office. Everything's ready to mail, but we're in a very rural area, so we have to drive some way to get to the PO. Some cars have already slid off this year, and last year, two people were killed right around here when they didn't heed the extreme danger warning. If you guys don't hear from me tonight, my internet may be gone from the blizzard. Praying that doesn't happen.

Just wanted to notify Libby and everyone else about this…it may cause me to have to pull out from the swap, if I can't meet the deadlines. That would be a terrible thing, but if it can't be prevented, there's nothing I can do.

Never lived through hurricanes, but I've heard enough about them. And my Oklahoma brain just can't comprehend blizzards in November. Both y'all stay safe!

Be safe! Time for the tube of sand and snow shovel in the trunk. Take it slow. Good luck!

Oh my! Thank you for sending and I'm glad you are okay! Wow, we're all enjoying our last 70-degree day of the year up here (it plunges to 52 tomorrow and 40's and below the rest of the year, in all likelihood), it's crazy to think that other people are getting such extreme weather today. Thank you for including a little extra postage, too! I appreciate it. Lovey dubby I'm really disappointed that my local post office didn't seem to be aware of price changes when I asked (or maybe there was a miscommunication somehow), but either way I will make it all work out. Smiling

Johannian - Awww, don't give up yet! You don't need to drop out of the swap for this. Safety is top priority, so absolutely don't go out when it's treacherous to do so! Hunker down, stay safe, and once they get those roads plowed, just head out and get them out. If it does get too prolonged, then we'll consider if you have to pull out of the swap, but let's at least give it a chance. Smiling I want you to get all of those fun seeds you dibbed on!

Maybe a better option for you may be to do a pickup service with a postal service. With USPS, you need to send it out via priority mail and they can pick it up as early as the next business day (which will be Saturday at this point, or maybe Monday if the weather is terrible this weekend). I think UPS has a minimum dollar amount, if I recall correctly. (I don't know what other services, like FedEx, require to pick up packages.) I hope that helps!

Thanks, Libby. If the forecasts are correct, I can get out on the 12th, just barely making it. It would be really late though. The only bad thing is that Rapid City/Black Hills has the most unpredictable weather in the entire country (a true fact), so I can only hope that they're correct about "good" weather on Saturday, and incorrect about a blizzard coming.

Johannian don't feel bad. I won't be mailing mine out until the 12th too. I'm working all 7 days this week so finding time to hit the PO is practically impossible.

Yep, same here, I am just wrapping up packing flowers/natives after fire drills at work meant some unexpected overtime this week. Starting to pack edibles this morning, and won't get anything shipped till after today. I have the holiday off and will have help today but I assumed I will be bringing up the rear in terms of shipping out just due to sheer quantities and working. I'm shooting for tomorrow but should definitely be able to make Monday if not. So don't stress about needing to sit tight for the weather for a couple days.

Shooting for for tomorrow. The PO is only open one hour on Saturdays here, and I'm prone to lose track of time... Blinking

I got my seeds finished about 9:40 am, made it up the hill in the snow in 4 wheel drive, arrived at the P.O. 10 minutes later, and got my seeds out at 9:58 am 2 minutes before closing! Hurray!

Just mailed mine. In my little population 300 people, we do have a small post office but I never use it. They have short hours, like only open 4 hours a day during the week & 1 hour on Saturday. I use the one in the next town over but they close at 11 on Saturday. I sent in $10 so if there's any left after shipping mine back, apply to someone who may be short. Or put it in the little one's piggy bank.

Mine went out today too. Post office was closed but they have a machine that lets you mail packages after hours. Sent in some extra $$ too to make up for people who were short.

Roads were still too treacherous by the post area, and it's closed anyway due to the road conditions. Tomorrow is supposed to be road-OK.
