This white bearded iris started blooming on the 4th of July and still has blooms and new stalks with buds on them as of November 6th. The buds start out a very pale lavender / white. It is my mom's iris but she has Alzheimer's so I would like to find out what it's name is. I'm very new at this, but all my research points to Immortality. I would love to get a second opinion with my photos.

Immortality, very likely. If not that, there's hundreds and thousands of white cultivars that may rebloom making it impossible to ID.

Immortality happens to be the most common one.
Does anyone know how to stop spending money on flowers?

DDMunday, if you want to try to confirm your mother's iris is Immortality I would recommend purchasing a rhizome of Immortality next year from a reputable vendor. Plant it in close proximity to your mystery iris.

See if the growth habits match (same general size, shape and color of foliage). See if the two plants bloom at the same time. Closely compare the blooms and fragrance, if any. Look carefully at the beards. Are they identical?

Also compare the bloom stalks and bud spacing. The more details that line up the more likely you have a match.

Good luck!

if both bloom the following year.. You might have to wait 2 or 3 years for the test.

DDMunday, Horton Iris Gardens and C & T Iris Patch both carry Immortality. I have ordered from both of them and always receive excellent quality rhizomes, most of which bloom the next season after I plant them. (Planting in late summer to early fall, they usually bloom the following spring for me in Zone 5, southwest Kansas.)

Another option might be Shreiner's Iris Gardens. Their prices are usually higher but they also usually send larger, more developed rhizomes that are even more likely to bloom the following spring.

Added on 12/17/22: I just remembered... In 2021 I ordered three rhizomes of Sugar Blues from Shreiner's. Sugar Blues is a rebloomer. All three of those rhizomes produced bloom stalks that same year. I planted them in late July or early August and they bloomed in late September or early October.

If you ordered Immortality from Shreiner's in 2023, there's a decent chance you might see blooms in fall of 2023. No guarantees but certainly possible.

Good advice already given on proving I.D....that said, a good diagnostic for Immortality is a "pale blue" bud, just prior to opening. That, and being very "free" with it's rebloom. Best to just call it "Mom's iris", and enjoy the joy!
