We have just 15 players that were able to make the required minimum BUT there are over 2100 different types of seed offered.

I've set the multiplier to 5 for tonight.

I'll be playing a couple of games I hope for some seedy prizes. These will be seeds that I didnt get a chance to add into the swap in time. Ill post them here so keep an eye out. Smiling

Happy Dibbing

Looking at the swap numbers this morning and I'm thinking that if I change the multiplier, we can all be rid of the seeds that we have packed and prepared for the swap.

Is anyone opposed to me changing the multiplier to 10 for the remaining days of the swap?

I know that I don't want to have to file away packets I have prepared.

Just had a thought. If you change it to 10, which is where we were yesterday, that sets it for 10 tonight doesn't it? Then 20 tomorrow and 30 the last day, which is just about where we would have been anyway.
Or is my mental computer offline?

Edited to add: You can probably play with the numbers in the host dashboard and find out how it will work out. Like Bluespiral, I woke up with a headache.

Lisa, without your generous hosting of this swap, and without Alana's kind and understanding help with obstacles, I would not be in this swap. So whatever makes it easier for both of you is actually a godsend to me - I'm fine with any decisions you might make with this swap.

Maybe it's my morning headache, but I've got this vision of you deciding to ditch the UPS or USPS and/or whatever appropriate postal means we should be using and go for a fleet of flying pigs to deliver our seeds instead. After all, there was a time when some of us were trading seeds back at Cubits with Ella as hostess - and earlier - that our passion for seeds and gardening 'seemed' to rule our lives beyond any sensibility of our pre-gardening selves - so we called our selves 'piggies' Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Whatever floats your boat! I will have seeds left anyway, but hope to get rid of as many as possible!

Alana, that is a good point.

I was thinking if I changed it to 10 that it would calculate based on being 10 from the side of the swap. I did not even entertain the thought that it would continue and be the same this evening as it was supposed to be when it was at five.

Maybe I should just change it to 15? I don't think anybody participating would care if the swap didn't last as long, as long as everyone gets some nice new seeds to try out.

Yes Karen, we were the piggies! I really enjoyed that swap also but that was way back.

This is pretty much the only swap that I've done the last few years. I joined in on some and taking a look at the offerings and it's just not worth me joining because I buy too many!

I wish that I could have gotten a lot more listed but with a new grandbaby and my daughter returning back to work two days a week and my son having an issue that required a lot of my help. I just didn't get around to it. I'm hoping in the next couple of days that I can get my act together and MAYBE make a post with a listing of seeds and people can choose one a day or something but there's no guarantee I'll have time. I have my 90-year-old mother I still take care of and now babysitting twice a week at my Daughter's 😱😱

I'm going to go take a few minutes and take a look at what offerings are left because I don't think I have anything else on my list right now. I didn't have time to thoroughly look through lists.

@dave, can you help me out here with the calculating of the numbers or what's going to happen if mid swap I changed the multiplier to 10. I'm not sure if it will give 10 tonight or if the system would calculate that it originally started at 5 and issue accordingly.

So, what I am is asking is there a way for me to change the multiplier so that's starting this evening people get a lot more tickets than they would have had I left it at 5?

There are so many great seeds in this swap and we've all taken the time to pack them up so I would like to make it so that players can dib on more for the last three nights of the swap.

If you change the multiplier it will take effect as if that was always the multiplier. In other words, it doesn't look backwards.

Each night when it gives new tickets, it calculates the ticket count for each player by multiplying the day of the swap by the multiplier regardless of what previous days might have been.

So, if you change the multiplier to 10 and it's day 3, then everyone will get 30 tickets when midnight UTC strikes.

It would be appreciated if everyone that has yet to do so put a mailing address in the system for me to get labels ready for mailing.

I like to have all bubble envelopes addressed when seeds start to arrive. It makes it so easy when opening incoming envelopes. I open them and sort right into the players envelope.

The first game, well not a game but the first person to get seeds to me will get first pick at the seeds/bags or plant markers offered as prizes. I'll try to get a list and photos posted tomorrow.

I'll post a game or two while I'm waiting for envelopes to arrive.
