Those are precious memories that you have there. It brings to mind that many a son, grandson, or great grandson probably got their start in the kitchen of many immigrant's homes. I'm sure a lot of cookbooks were scribbled in, and various notes were jotted down as well. That is history! We must never forget our lineage. It's what makes us, us. Love the photos Terri! I should really start writing down recipes for the Polish food my mom and aunts always cooked. None of us ever wrote anything down, you just learned from watching and tasting. Which is good too, because then each family has its own "official" version of the dish. Poppyseed roll pastry is one for my family. I've seen recipes in books/online and they are diff from what we all make. If I put lemon zest in my poppyseed roll I'd be drummed out of the family nodding
