Gently scrape any visible ones and watch for new crawlers. Spray again in a month or use a granular systemic.

Yikes, those are big scale insects!
Most systemic insecticides won't kill scale.
They are easily killed with a spray of rubbing alcohol, then remove them with a q-tip. Repeat twice a week, probably forever. It's really hard to completely get rid of them, especially on a large plant.
Insecticidal soap can help also, sometimes I'll alternate that with the alcohol spray.
Systemic insecticides containing dinotefuran will get rid of them. The only one I can currently find is Safari, and it's about $US 150.00 for a 12 ounce bottle. Way outside my budget! If anyone can recommend another product with systemic dinotefuran, please let me know. Smiling
Now that you know what these scale insects look like, you need to be vigilant and constantly keep after them. You can keep them under control, but will probably never completely get rid of them.

I am going to mix 1 quarter teaspoon of Olive oil and +1 quarter teaspoonful Dawn liquid soap in 2 of gallon of water, submerse the plant for 5 minutes I have nothing to lose. Would let you all know the results.
