Do Lewisia flowers have much in the way of nectar or pollen resources? I like them, but also prefer to have plants with multiple functions so wildlife resources would be great. I also really don't know how they would fare in our humidity and higher rainfall.
Always looking for interesting plants for pollinators and food! Bonus points for highly, and pleasantly scented plants.

When I had Lewisias before butterflies love them a lot.

I wish I can keep them happy here..they cannot stand our excessive dry heat even in shade..sadly..

They love our mild winter to early Spring temps, and some intermittent rains. But I made sure my media was very gritty like 90% mix of pumice and chicken grit (insoluble crushed granite) and 10% cacti mix. This is to ensure much faster drainage when it did rain during winter.

You may have better luck than me, your area will be cooler than mine. Just be mindful of the media, got to be very gritty.

I finally got to my other computer, just wanted to share old file photos of my Lewisia when I used to have it...been a long while.. March 2015! I really miss this plant.

This was how I planted it, if you do choose to try, make sure your media is this gritty.

I remember I got the plant in late Fall, having seen the leaves that reminded me of sempervivums, but it is much thinner and softer texture. I planted this in late Fall, by then temps are cooler, then by late winter to early Spring it will be blooming here then. Truly loved the blooms Lovey dubby
