A recent trip to Puerto Rico. This is a cluster of trees at the Jardin Botanico de Universidad de Puerto Rico, so it may or may not be native to PR.

Not sure if that's B. recurvata:
Ponytail Palm (Beaucarnea recurvata)
or guat:
Red Ponytail Palm (Beaucarnea guatemalensis)

It sort of has a rounded, bulbous base, but not.

In scanning on-line images, I think I favor B recurvata, but I'll leave thread open a little longer to see if other opinions.

It's B Recurvata not B Guatamalensis.
