I bought Prairie Blossoms during a summer sale at Oakes in 2020. It bloomed for me in June of 2021 and again in May of 2022 according to my records. I also noted that it showed some rust each summer. I just checked, and it has come back this spring (2023).

It is a very cute small plant with attractive little blooms blending peach, red, and yellow. I see it is officially a bicolor. Pictures are appealing, and that's why I bought it.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this plant for the Deep South. Blooms here are sparse, it is slow to increase, and it's susceptible to rust. It may do fine in colder climates.

These are the only pictures I have of Prairie Blossoms. The top one is from 2021 and the bottom one from 2022.

I purchased this one last year, around mid season 2022 from Oaks. I planted it in a planter. Its listed as an early bloomer. It did not bloom in my garden last year. I will update my review after it blooms Crossing Fingers! in a couple of months assuming it survived the winter in a planter.

Best wishes, passionate4gardening. Looks like we all got ours from Oakes. Hilarious! I kept mine in a pot for a couple of years, but it didn't get as brutally cold and wet as this winter has been, and it did fine.

Nan is right. It is a somewhat slow increaser. And cute, but I don't have many pictures of it. (I feel like I should add a cultivation disclaimer: it doesn't get much TLC from me!) Early season darker bi-color and nice branching moved me to dab a little pollen on it. Pod fertile at least.

It's the front plant in this picture from June 10, 2021.

The rebloom tends to be taller and more branched, although there are not nearly as many scapes as with the first round. I love the way the taller scapes show off the fat, neat little buds. With taller scapes, the plant has proportions that I really like. September 10th:

Justine, yours looks a lot happier than mine. That reinforces my suspicion that it would be happier north of here.

I have had mine since 2015. Also got mine from Oakes. Moved into a different bed in 2018. Increased up to 12 fans this spring. Mine has never gotten to the 25 inches shown in the data base. Not many blooms, but blooms for about a month. I will say it has lasted longer than any other dormant that I have had.

Wow, yours also is doing better than mine, Alma. You've also had it longer. I'm going to give mine some fertilizer this spring and see if that makes a difference.

Not a bad plan, to give it a boost. Maybe it will find it's feet in the third year, like so many do.

Guess this is one of those plants that performs vastly differently depending on location...I'm in New Hampshire, and compared to many living further south, I have nothing but good things to say about this plant. It blooms like mad for me, the blooms are always nicely formed and hold up well in warmer weather. I also get some rebloom, but that is inconsistent here with even the most reliable rebloomers. It has increased very well for me.

Also got mine from Oakes.
