What is the difference between Cardinal Climber (Ipomoea x multifida) and Cardinal Climber (Ipomoea sloteri)? They appear to be the same to me as far as some of the photos in the database go. Is there some visual way of distinguishing one from another? I've planted some seeds in hopes of attracting hummingbirds. The seed packet was from Ferry Morse and did not give any name other than Cardinal Fine Climber.

You'll be pleased to know that botanists agree with you and have reclassified Ipomoea x sloteri as a synonym for Ipomoea x multifida. I have merged the two entries.

Cardinal Climber (Ipomoea x multifida)
