This plant appeard about six months ago. It has (seven) correction, Eight leafs or stems and is now 4'6'at highest point. My concern is that it is close to pathway. Will it lift or cause the path to crack.
Advice much appreciated

Looks like a Strelitzia (most likely white bird of paradise / S. Nicholai), although Travelers palm (Ravenala madagascariensis) can also be very similar at young stage. Both species will get huge, cracking those pathway while growing and having pups at the base.

Thank you. No doubt it is as you advise. Found pics of small travellers for sale here in Sydney, and they are as mine is. previous owner probably cut it down and now five years since we bought the property it has emerged. Bad news coming for this traveller. Thumbs down

Traveller's Palm in a tropical climate will get 20+ feet tall and pups like crazy. I have one that has had as many as 8 pups before. I'm not in a tropical climate and mine will get knocked back by freeze at times so never reaches its full potential. I'd move it if I were you
