I like hearing the spring peepers and seeing the migrating birds in springtime.
My favorite sound of spring is the Chuck Wills Widow call, commonly called a night hawk. They are related to the Whipporwill.
When I walk my dog at dusk, we will see them dusting their feathers on the driveway. They stay just ahead of us but are fun to watch. When driving after dark, their eyes reflect the headlights and glow red. Their calls at night and the mourning dove calls in the morning are definite sounds of spring for me.
