Today is my first TB bloom of the season, as well as first bloom ever in my garden for Daughter of Stars. Two lovely blooms, in fact! I need to charge up my camera.

Second day of first bloom for Daughter of Stars.

Thanks, Derylin. The reason it looks so frilly on top is that you are also seeing the standards of the bloom that is behind it. The stem is somewhat short, but I figure that's because this is its first time to bloom. I expect it will bloom taller next year.

Champagne Elegance opened its first bloom today. This is 6 days earlier than it bloomed last year! I'll get a photo of it tomorrow.

Everything except the SDBs bloomed early for me - usually, my SDBs start up at around April 6-8th which didn't happen this year, but the IBs and TBs are all almost two weeks ahead.

Weather is fickle, isn't it?

Golden Panther, Absolute Treasure, and Bubbling Over have all opened today. Tom's Going Dutch has opened more blooms. So pretty! And Champagne Elegance is going like gangbusters.

Thanks, Tom. I wish I could get the color balance to be less yellowy on the foliage. Your camera seems to render the grey-green of iris foliage much more accurately than mine.

Vanity (Thanks @Snork ), Pagan Dance (Thanks @ Snork ), Beverly Sills, Hollywood Nights, and my siberian, Over in Gloryland have all opened blooms today. I'll get photos if time permits. Our son is coming in for a visit from Ohio for Mother's Day weekend, so I expect to be busy.
