Thread OP
Colorado Springs, CO going to
I am moving from CO to NC. It's currently late May and I would have already planted my dahlia tubers. I don't expect to be in NC until mid July. What options do I have? This will be my second year growing dahlias so I don't know much about them.

Can I still plant them that late in the season in NC?
Can I keep them dormant for another winter and plant in the spring of 2024?
Or should I just give them away now?

Not sure what I would do, it would depend on how many you have. If there weren't a lot, I'd give them away and buy new ones next spring. Or you might start them in planters and plant when you get to NC. At best, they would be late blooming or maybe not bloom at all this year. But they'd likely make some new tubers by digging time this fall.
