Hello All.

Lantern flies are all over Brooklyn, NY. Unfortunately, lantern flies are attracted to a few trees & bushes I have in my yard: blueberry bushes and Japanese maples. I've read that solutions made with apple cider vinegar and dish soap can help eradicate the lantern flies. I want to spray this solution across the entire yard but I'm wondering if my clematis, lilies or barberry bushes would be negatively impacted by the solution.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry but I have little faith in that mix. Maybe if you actually find the LF and drown them by hand.

Vinegar is a pretty good herbicide.
The soap will kill insects, the vinegar can damage or kill plants.

Thanks very much for the replies sallyg & MsDoe.

I've used a dish soap & water solution. When the rain stops I will follow-up with a sprinkling of Diatomaceous Earth around the base of my trees and bushes.
