I planted this in August 2020. Modern Design is in a dark spot most of the day, so it's not a big producer

In 2021, it bloomed from July 10- August 5th, with 12 flowers. That cool, rainy summer, the flowers came out almost white.

In 2022, it only bloomed from July 7-19 with 9 blooms. That hot, dry summer the blooms came out pale orange, like a creamsicle. If I put it somewhere with more light, I'm sure it would do better but I'm afraid it has to stay where it is. It does have a nice tendency to poly.

Modern Design is doing well in my garden. It has a great spot and rewards me with abundant flowers. Unfortunately it does not rebloom and therefore it is only during a short period of time. Drought resistance is average and it forms brown tips on foliage if it is stressed due to a shortage of water. I'm in zone 5 and it has been through some very cold winters (up to -26 degrees F) and it never has caused an issue.

2023 update…Modern Design had a better summer, blooming from July 7-20, with 18 blooms. That's twice as many as last year!
