I agree. Virginia creeper is a very aggressive grower. If you don't love it, take action early to pull it out.

I'm near Chicago and found one plant in the corner behind the garage and was hoping it would take over back there. About 7 years later it's still the one plant. It must depend on your climate as to how aggressive it is, because it's definitely not in my yard.

Yes, climate makes a big difference. With a long growing season and adequate moisture, everything thrives - at least if you don't want it to.

It's insanely aggressive here in Zone 4, grows wild all over the place.

Mine must hate the soil back there then, it gets very very dry, especially this year.

I pulled up a bunch of it from my nephews yard in Albuquerque and planted it along my 30' x 60' fence in the back of my house. It has grown a nice privacy fence back there. We can sit out there and not be seen by the neighbors. It has done its job nicely. Big Grin
