The seed pack says it will get 2-3ft tall , and grow in shade ???

I think it's one of those plants that likes full sun in the north but in hotter climates it likes some shade.

Very pretty. Good thing you planted it in the back! I have Amaranth 'Love lies Bleeding' and 'Hopi Red Dye' that self seeds all over my yard now and they are bigger than me! I just love it when that happens.
