Thread OP

Does anyone know for certain whether H. Kwanza is aDiploid or Tetraploid. I am guessing Diploid as from what I have read most original Tets came from diploids being treated with BAP to alter the genetics but I would really like to know for certain. Anyone can confirm this or ??????

Assuming you are referring to h. fulva 'Kwanso', this plant is a triploid. 'Kwanza Gold' is a tet.

@signet,
I think Dave is spot on with Kwanza being a Triploid. Also I think BAP is used to produce proliferations and other growths and that colchicine is used in the process to make a tet. from a dip. There are also other chemicals I think that can be used but I am not familiar with their names.
