The rabbits( or something else) are eating some rain lily foliage almost down to the ground this past week. I have sprayed with that rabbit stuff. I want to move them but this heat is really brutal. Can I move them now or should I just keep spraying and hope they have enough foliage to keep going and move in the fall?

If you decide to wait to transplant, you could check to see if your local Dollar Tree has these baskets. You can turn them upside down and place over the plants, then pin down with landscape staples.

That's given me an idea. I have some mesh that I use to deter digging in my containers that I could fashion a cage around the tiny foliage that is left to give it a chance. It is sharp so by pointing it outward it might make it unpleasant to nibble on.

So I couldn't stand to see the rain lilies so eaten up so I transplanted all the bulbs I could see foliage on( 2 or 3) to a big pot on my pack patio. There were lots of tiny bulbs in the area and I tried to get everything. I already have lots more foliage and one bloom and another on the way.

Glad they are recovering. Thankfully the rabbits in my yard leave my rain lilies alone.

Rain lillies are blooming again in my area and many others. Spring and fall are their main blooming times.
