What should I do with this? I let it go for a while because I thought the plant might start focusing on growing other roots but....

It just keeps getting longer?

I'm sure someone else will go into detail but that's totally normal.
Mine do that all the time too.

My understanding is it's just getting long while looking for something to grab onto and support vertical growth.

I think the plant does better producing aerial roots assuming it helps it achieve physical maturity cues before shifting towards other growth.

All kinds of views on it.

Same with hacking the root or letting it grow and do its thing.

Indoor I cut eventually on the assumption the plant is expending energy on root growth it won't regain unless it allows the plant to anchor and support and climb..

Outdoor...I have some approaching 3' crawling down the porch steps.

If I had something to train them to grow vertically on I'd love to let them get at it, hasn't happened yet.

Tons of regulars with these growing huge and fantastic, wait for advcie from them Smiling

Is it a philodendron or a juvenile monstera deliciosa? Looks like Monstera to me. Just gently curl it around the inner aspect of the pot and let it grow down into the soil. It's there to anchor the plant so that the plant can start climbing. If it was outside planted in the ground as soon as it touched the soil it would grow into the soil and make soil roots

I wrapped it back into the pot and kind of poked it back into the soil. : )

Thanks for the advice!
