Can you clarify if this bed with the penstemon is sun or shade, please? I see peonies and lillies and sedum across the lawn, which makes me think it's a sunny border. But you edged it with a hosta and the margins aren't scorched at all! Is it a particularly sun resistant cultivar? Thanks for the help.

It is part sun part shade in that particular bed, and the Francee hosta is sun tolerant. The one small area where the penstemon is gets more sun than the rest.
