I've come across many youtube videos of people rooting store bought bananas in compost, I'm am not sure whether this would work and if it is possible to do so it will probably take a few tries. I remain with an open mind on this.

Contrary to popular belief, bananas do have seeds. The varieties that are raised strictly as ornamental plants (there are many bananas that are considered inedible because they have very little flesh and are almost all seeds) can be grown from seed or by composting the bananas. But the type you buy at the supermarket cannot

The you tube I based my answer to are definitely not the ornamental ones. If you search online about growing banana 🍌 from fruit and click on videos, they are doing a lot of "unbelievable" videos of growing banana fruit into a banana tree with edible fruits. Sometimes they would glue roots on a banana fruit.
