There are only a few ferns that I can id on sight. Christmas Ferns are one of them - the individual leaves on the frond look like a Christmas stocking Smiling I try so many different ferns in my gardens and Christmas ferns are always a success in my conditions Thumbs up

You are so good at planting and transplanting your things. I like the design aspects of rearranging plants, and god knows I LOVE acquiring plants, but when it comes to the hard work of planting them out, I procrastinate about it to no end Whistling I know that part of it is my least favorite gardening task, but you seem to do it with gusto and endless energy Green Grin!

I'll have to take a closer look! I was just told these are Christmas ferns, but I never bothered to check. "Duh....tanks! hokay..." I just wish I had loads and loads more. My Woodland Garden is completely artificial. It was a cornfield to begin with so there is no normal "understory" under the (now) big trees. I'm trying to introduce as much native woodland plants as I can but I see that a lot of things just won't "take"...I think because there is no natural substrate of leaf mold, fungi, etc. that comes with a natural woodland. Love the pics of your garden!
I am not "country" I am "landed gentry."
