So, I have a question. I follow the Recent Events link and click stars on the items that interest me. I notice several times that an item will show up as "Removed", but my wish list stars are still there. At the time of the swap, is it automatically removed from my wish list, or do I need to go through my wish list and delete those items myself?

Thanks in advance to anyone who knows.

I don't know, but I manually remove the stars because I'm easily confused.

@kywheeler - Let's see if I understand - I see events and lists as two different things. Say I've wishlisted your item from the events. Later, you remove that item. Poof! - that item is removed from my wishlist. Next, you add it back - it's viewed as an event! I still want it! I must wishlist it again. It is back on my wishlist. I hope I've made sense.

Hmm, thanks all. I'll figure it out so that at swap time I'm not bidding on something that isn't actually there.

I lave my stars in case quantities are added - you won't be able to fib on something without a quantity and if you select exclude quantity- then they don't show on your wishlist when dibbing;)

What I think happens: I know a lot of the stuff I offered said added, then removed in the recent events. Sometimes when clicking on the button to add the item to the swap it's slow to turn green, so I click it again which effectively removes it (!) and I end up having to 'add' it again. If you see your stars next to an item that says it's removed, it really is still available. If an item is actually removed the stars would disappear from recent events and from your wish list.

I'm wrong! D'Oh!
I went to recent events, noticed a removed item that still had the wish list stars, then searched in the full tradelist for that item and it wasn't there. Sooooo I don't know why, in recent events, we can still wish list a removed item.

Me neither. Seeing stars like a bump to the head. Nevermind the watermark in my screenshot, though that's a good place to put it so as not to call out the item that I masked out.

I've done this experiment and can report my observations. I, too, was curious how this worked, because I wanted to know if I removed something prematurely if it would lose its associated wishlisted count if I readded it later on. Answer: no! System remembers who has wishlisted removed items!

Here is what I did and observed:

1) I removed something wishlisted by 5 people when I uncheck the green button on my Swap List of items offered.
2) Item shows up as removed in the Recent Events page.
3) People who had item wishlisted will see the item removed on the Recent Events page, with their star rating.
People who did not have the item wishlisted will see the item removed on the Recent Events page, with no star rating.
4) Within the same minute of removal, I clicked the green check button to re-add the item from my Swap List.
5) The system instantly reported 5 people still had the item wishlisted.

Conclusion:

The system will remember the star rating, if you do not un-star items on the events page, and will remove the item from your Wishlist since it doesn't exist in the full Tradelist anymore.

If you un-star a removed item from the events page, it will NOT be automatically Wishlisted if the item is readded later.

You could also GIVE a star rating to something from the Recent Events page line item when it was removed, and it would join your Wishlist if it is readded later. Useful if you missed starring an item before it got removed.

Have you ever seen something added at the Recent Events page and it already has your star rating on it? I have, and this could be why.

I think the reason it works this way is the wish lists aren't only per swap. It is for general purposes also.
