With fall shipping done for 2023, it's time for a Spring 2024 want list. We all have those constantly growing "want" lists making this a perfect thread to post those daylilies you're having trouble finding or maybe make a trade with another member.

There hasn't been any replies to the thread moved from Ask a Question forum to the Daylilies forum so I'm going to post this here and hope it's seen. The original thread will eventually get bumped down and missed. Hopefully someone can help @Fgleber find 'Beatrice Blanche'.

I can't find the plant in any of the usual places, but is it possible I've tracked down the hybridizer or someone who knows the hybridizer? This link from a Foundation lists a Frank Gleber, who is the former owner of a Daylily Nursery. And according to the database, the hybridizer of Beatrice Blanche is "Gleber". Like all things on the internet, I can't guarantee this page isn't 30 years old, but it might be worth checking into if you want it badly enough. There's a link to contact him, if it isn't too old.

I am still looking for Quasar Cutie... I 'almost' had it, a couple of years ago, via Keast Gardens... missed it 'twice' now on Northern Lights Daylilies (signed up to be notified when it becomes available again with both of them at least two years ago) and have been looking for it for several years without success.

Also, looking for 'Colorado Blues' from any daylily nursery or reputable garden that is not 'sold out' 🤣

Colorado Blues was one I grew around 15 years ago. It survived but didn't thrive here in my garden on the edge of zones 6/7. I sent it south to a friend. If you find it, I suggest you plant it in a sheltered place and mulch it well.

Dianne: Quasar Cutie is listed with Roth daylilies as available in 2023. Worth a try for 2024. I've used her before and she is rust free if that matters to you.

@Seedfork At one time, the hybridizers sold over the internet as East Texas Daylilies. Now, you have to visit, so I conjecture it was branding at the time. There are others on NGA database like "Spilled Perfume" [which doesn't exist] registered as ET Spilled Perfume.

Oddly, I've managed to find everything I've wanted, mostly. There are a couple of things that are eluding me.

I'm looking for Underneath the Ice, which is a full sibling of Pigment of Imagination. It has a few qualities that appeal to me more than its better known relative. So I thought I would ask here. Anyone have any insight?

Addition: Chicago Blue Eyes. Until today, I didn't know this existed. Unlike tet. Prairie Blue Eyes, this was bred from tetraploid parents, and has greater genetic stability. That being said, I wonder why it wasn't used for hybridizing more than it was.

That's interesting. I didn't know there was a Prairie Blue Eyes (dip) and a Chicago Blue Eyes (tet). I didn't know Marsh did that, either. And it does seem odd that people would prefer to bybridize with the converted tet Prairie Blue Eyes instead of the Chicago Blue Eyes. The only thing I can think of is the convertered version may have had bigger blooms and scapes, which will happen. Prairie Blue Eyes was 4 inches taller than Chicago Blue Eyes to start wtih. Maybe it was a significantly larger plant when converted.

For those that don't know, Marsh (John?) was hybridizing as tets were being developed. A lot of early hybridizers specialized in tets or dips. But Marsh had a line of dips, many wtih "Prairie" as the first word, and he also experimented with tets and named a lot of them with "Chicago" as the first word.

Looking for a source for "Picturesque Pattern". No listed owners on this forum. CT Daylilies has it listed but I sent an email over a month ago, still no response. Anyone have any leads?
