One of our swap members, Ladyreneer/Renée, lives in Tennessee. We had been treemailing, and I was expecting a reply by the end of the weekend. I started getting antsy when I didn't hear from her. Monday evening I was driving home, thinking that I needed to check my treemail again, and I flipped on the radio to hear about tornados in Tennessee over the weekend. I thought "Uh oh!". I checked to see if she had posted anything since Thursday, and she had not. Then I asked ishareflowers, who has all our addresses, to see if Renee's town was in the path of the tornado. She told me that Renee's town was "hit hard".
Let's pray for Renée, her family and friends, and all the others affected by the Tennessee tornadoes.🙏

Adding my prayers for LadyReneer and all others in the tornado path, too.

Thanks for all of the prayers and kind words, fellow seed-loving-friends! I really, really appreciate those prayers. Thanks so much, Deb "Dradiana" and friends. ❤️

Yes, there are areas around here that have been hit. We were not affected this time fortunately, however I've been helping where I can.
I made homemade wholewheat sourdough bread to give away.
I know about 20 years ago we had friends, strangers, guys out on the main road clearing out debris. We made sandwiches, cookies, apples and lemonade meals and delivered to them as they werent reallytaking breaks. 😊 The meals were appreciated.

So glad you are okay, Renee! I lived in Alabama in 2011 when the supercells went through. We fared alright, just a couple of trees down and a lot of debris in the yard, but there were deaths a quarter mile from us, and the big power lines at the end of the neighborhood folded right over. I have thankfully never lived in a war zone, but I could only imagine that it would look like what northern Alabama did then. People think of the midwest (i.e. Kansas) as the tornado zone, but that stretch from southwestern Alabama up through Tennessee sees a lot of activity, especially in April and October - this is pretty late for it. Stay safe, and thanks for helping the helpers - you are right, they do need it!

Glad to know you were not directly affected. You and your community are in my thoughts as you help tend to recovery efforts. The weather certainly brings us to our knees more than ever.

Pardon my ignorance; here to learn.

I rarely post, because I'm new to gardening, and just reading has taught me so much... anyway...
My heart goes out to them all. There is nothing as devastating as a tornado. I hope they are safe.
I appreciate your knowledge and opinions.
