Van Helsing was newly acquired and has been in the garden for going on two years. Therefore, I can not comment on it's growth habit or vigor. I can comment on the flower: It is amazing! the base petal color is a wonderful, satin-like, shiny unusual shade of red. The petals are edged with silvery white teeth that provide great contrast. I am sure this one will be in my garden for a long time.

Like Greg, I haven't had this plant for long. I was sent two fans by Northern Lights in May 2022. By October it was up to three fans. This season, VH bloomed July 11- August 2 with 13 flowers and grew another fan to end with four. So far, I'm pleased with its performance.

The flowers are very striking, a brilliant cherry red here with a white toothy picotee edge. I love the look of the bloom, the shape and the heavy substance. Not every Polston plant is successful here but this one seems quite happy.

I have had Van Helsing for a few years now. It has been struggling. Bought as a single fan and it was a very small fan when it arrived. I moved it during the summer to a more protected area. Hopefully that will help.

I have this plant for long years now and it is a good grower here. It goes totally dormant in winter, so dormant I can not see anything and it looks like it has gone or is eaten by mice! But in spring all the new fans grow strongly out of the ground and make a strong clump. The color is always clear, no stipples also in a colder periode, but the teeth may be a bit bigger, sometimes it is difficult to see it has teeth. I never got pods on this one.

Maine zone 5a. I love Van Helsing. It literally stopped me in my tracks the first time it bloomed. I haven't grown it long enough to give stats on increase, but its bloom is worth whatever increase I get.

Beautiful bloom, very slow to increase here. It could be our lack of decent amounts of snow in the last few years. I do cover with mulch in the fall. It may also be one that is slow to mature. These are all possible solutions.
