As with most of the other Lillian plants ( sorry Fred) I haven't had good performance in my garden. The majority of them have died but this one is still with me.

I planted two fans in April 2022. There were no flowers that summer and no additional fans either. These two caught a mild case of rust during an outbreak.

In 2023, it started the season with the same two fans. I had three flowers, on extremely short scapes, July 15-23. By October, it had grown another fan to end at three.

I'm suspending judgement until next season but it hasn't been going great guns so far.

After managing here in Tennessee for 4 years, this one succumbed to the winter extinction event a year ago. It's a pity, because I liked it. (FYI, Lillian's Thin Ice did fine, however.) A couple of years ago, I put LIT in the greenhouse for the winter and it did well the following growing season.

And that's zone 7a, so that bears out my theory of it being a slightly tender semi-Evergreen.

Man, I'm sorry Fred, that's rough. I would think Alabama would be more insulated but I know that deep freeze last February hit all over the country.

The worse thing was I had them in pots with no protection.

I feel your pain, brother! It's a special journey that goes through some dark interior space. Glare
