Always nice to find great buys at the dollar store. The 6" saucers are clearly not heavy duty but 5 for $1.25…can't beat that!! Those larger ones are very sturdy - 10" across…'wheels' on bottom but wouldn't count on those lasting too long.

“Little girl, why are you doing this? You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!” After a few moments thought, she bent down, picked up another starfish & hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference to that one!” Be the change you wish to see in the world. http://www.stillsthatspeak.com...

Our Dollar Tree doesn't carry the oil change pans on a regular basis now. Despite the black color, they're the best saucers I've found for medium to large pots, and their depth lets you put a layer of gravel on the bottom if you want. (Add a wick, and the plant can access the water down in the gravel layer.)

Seems no matter what department I find myself in, I keep an eye out for things I can use for plants!

I stopped in to one of the three Dollar Tree stores near me. They have the oil pans. I picked up 6 of them, and there were at least 6 more on the shelf. Note that they were on the very top shelf, totally out of sight.

If interested, let me know

I would like to pick up cheap small round plastic pots, such as might be 5 for a buck or something - 3 inches, no bigger. Any chance anyone has seen such?
My nursery used to keep a bin of used pots- these small ones would be 10 cents. Such a deal! Such variety! But they moved and haven't got that going (yet).
Plant it and they will come.

How many pots are you looking to get?

Just like, ten. I want to 'make babies' Hilarious! for a small library giveaway and I really like them to be in a round pot like you would buy a little houseplant, rather than a square super flimsy black nursery one. and I'm very picky about having the right size pot for the baby plants at any given time. Probably too picky.
We have a Senior Social in May with about ten regulars, and May is Senior Appreciation Month. I better check the date, it could be Friday of next week. I may have to go with what I've got.
Plant it and they will come.

The "Deal Guy" said those pots were at Aldi, in 2 sizes, but I didn't see them at our store.

I bought a couple of plants recently that came in light tan 4" round pots, very nice looking and sturdy to hold. I think they might be compostable (one broke up easily when I knocked the plant loose). Not sure where to get them...
