The shrubs are Annabelle Hydrangeas, they just leafed out so don't form the full row yet here like they do by summer. I planted 50 of the tulips fall of 2022 and liked them so I added another 25 last fall. I didn't really have space for them but saw a video where someone just used the easy bulb hole digger and planted them right in the middle of their lawn, so that's what I tried about 1.5' in front of the Annabelles. I mow around them until the leaves are ready to die off, it's mostly weeds back there so the grass doesn't get too high until that point.
A lot of the petals had already fallen, so this was the last batch of pics of them last spring, but this was the exact photo I used, probably tilted it a bit to get the most tulips in that slice. You can see the weeds between them here, but as long as it's green, I still call it lawn.
