Glad to see that phytosanitary certs have finally been addressed in the online seed exchange instructions (though not in the PDF version). I'd just about given up on being able to participate ever again.

The next challenge will be finding enough Australian members to combine orders with to make the phyto cost ($70USD) worthwhile. At least the RHS Lily Group was ahead of the game and had a nominated Australian member prior to their seed exchange opening, so the cost of the phyto there was split amongst those of us who ordered.

I'll probably have to give the NALS seed exchange a miss this year (too much on my plate to reach out to all the Aussies I know and be the main organiser right now), but will certainly have to plan for next year.

I hope I will have some seeds this year so I can donate next. I hope it will pass customs next time. I am still mad carniolicums and bosniacums didn't reach NALS last year. And nobody knows what happened with the envelope. Thumbs down

Rich
I'm just returning the kindness shown to me when I started in this hobby, or maybe obsession, by donating seed.
The NALS seed exchange was my primary seed source until I got to know people involved with breeding.

I'm acting as a vector to pass on my lily addiction. I believe more the merrier, I also don't have enough room to grow everything I get seed from. I'd hate to see it go to waste.

Eric, I couldn't have said it better than you just did. The more the merrier indeed.

Looking over the seed exchange, I see most of the crosses I made and sent in with a "4N lg chartreuse lime trumpet" as one of the parents have already been snapped up. I've made a note to make more crosses with it to share this year!

This hybrid came from one of my earliest trumpet crosses actually, made in 2003 between a tet Griesbach trumpet I got from Eddie McRae and Ice Caves, a seed strain sold by The Lily Garden. I've used this hybrid in crosses since 2007. Been a reliable garden plant and breeder for a long time. Here's several pictures of it.

I didn't grab any of Chartreuse trumpet seed this year maybe next year.

I started 16 small batches of last year's seeds that never made it to the fridge or freezer, just stored in an unheated spare bedroom. Plus I didn't protect any of them. So I decided to not send any to the exchange. You can say it was an off year for me. Whistling

So far one seed has germinated: Gold Eagle (clone) x greenish Tropical Isle seedling. When enough time has passed I will document the results and let you all know how they did.

I've been a bad boy, and was too late offering seed to NALS. But I can make them available here. Treemail me if you want any seed of these. It'll only cost me the price of a regular postage stamp, so no need for compensation.
