You have asked a question that does not have one simple answer. It's like asking 'how much should my 8 year old child eat.' It depends on the size and weight of the child among other things. Lots of plants do just fine with a balanced fertilizer such as 5-5-5 or 10-10-10. But all plants are not created equal. Perhaps you could specify what plants you have and.... are they thriving, do they need help, are they not blooming. We could give you a better answer then.
