The Tradescantia is quite hardy here. You may want experiment with a piece next winter. You should have plenty by then! Also fun to play with putting it in different amounts of sun, the leave are schizo. The almost solid red of your leaves indicates the plant was in lots of direct light. The photo by Gingin that Jay included shows one in less light, which makes the gray stripes and green on top more prominent. Will stay alive anywhere, from total all-day sun to total shade, but really thrives in dappled light under a tree if you have that outside next summer. While inside, near an east window is ideal.
