Has anyone seen anything like this before? I found it while weeding and raking in my shade garden. It is in a bed with bulbs. I've never seen anything like it.
Neither of the photos are that clear, sorry but its a totally round shaped plant

Very weird Greg. Keep an eye on that and maybe we can ID it as it matures.

Greg, has it gotten any bigger? Seems like an odd time for an emerging plant. I'll be curious to see what it grows into.

If it weren't green and kind of "tightly-wrapped-cabbage" looking on top, I would think "mushroom or puffball".

Rick I thought the same thing...Deb, it is an odd time, but it is along side a high cement wall, so maybe its been cold enough and warm enough to send it into early spring feeling?? Shrug! It is a hard round ball, not mushy at all, it does have a white stem.

My guess is a lily. I have some where the tops got cut off or for some reason aren't there. But the 'leaves' continue to grow minus their pointy little tops.

It does look like something that began growing and got chopped off. It is in the middle of my spanish hyacinths, so that is what I'm guessing it is! I tip my hat to you. Hurray! As soon as it changes at all, I'll update a photo here - but so far it looks just the same.
