This is without a doubt my favorite yard tool. It’s a small 22 HP articulated 4x4 hydraulic tractor made by Powertrac. It has quick connect tools for the front end. I have a 4ft and 5 ft bucket, a 5 ft finish mower and a 5 ft plow. Most of the time I use the 5 ft bucket for yard work. This year, for example, I ordered 12 yards of cedar mulch. Without this tractor, I might still be spreading mulch:) Purchased new in June of 2005.

Sturdy big garden fork. Has made it possible to do more of the yard work myself than would otherwise be the case.

I used to agree with Deb: my "sharpshooter" drain spade. Besides digging and turning and making ditches, it was a "reaching tool" that let me transplant into the middle of a bed without stepping on it, or near the edges without stooping over. I could cut seed furrows with it, or smooth down and firm a seed bed.

But since I bought a 4-tine cultivator, I think that's may new favorite. It tills, weeds, picks coarse stuff out of the compost heap's surface layer, picks up brush, and mixes soil amendments.

I like your seat, @Terrafirma. I like that the wheels swivel. Your gadget holders are pretty cool, too! I want to get DH one. Where did you find it? btw, I think your screen name should be "TARAfirma"!

I have the rigid plastic rolling stool which does not have the pull handle or spot to hang a trug. The storage is under the seat, but you have to lift yourself off to access it, plus is gets flooded when I leave it out in the rain. At some point, I'd like to upgrade to the one Terrafirma shows (far superior in my opinion), but meanwhile I make do. I am always surprised at how easy on my back it is.

DH and I were only doing stocking stuffers for each other this Christmas but I can't think of anyone more deserving. He has such a good attitude being stuck in his wheelchair. I think he would be able to transfer to this stool and get back into the garden where he wants to be! I mean the man actually wants to pull weeds! SOLD! Santa told me so! I'll stick the wheel of it into the stocking. Hilarious!
Sorry for the hijack, Frank. Tara's favorite toll will become DH's favorite tool! Now back to our regularly scheduled topic.....

Guess my favorite is the scuffle hoe. I started using it while very disabled sitting on a milkcrate and half-heartedly shoving it forward and backward...the hoe not the milk crate that is. Rolling on the floor laughing Now that I am working in a standing position the scuffle hoe works even better, plus I like the sound it makes as it clickety-clacks back and forth chopping off the weeds.

Tara if you get a beach umbrella and find a place on your tractor seat to attach a pvc pipe (wire it on is the easy way) that is just a little bigger in diameter than the umbrella plug the bottom end of the pipe and viola you have an umbrella.

I did this with a metal garden kneeling bench y umbrella also tilts. I have used for years it really make a difference when it is so hot to have some shade. I do like your tractor seat being it is movable on wheels I have to move my bench around.
If you want to be happy for a lifetime plant a garden!
Faith is the postage stamp on our prayers!

Green, My mom had a scuffle/stirrup hoe when I was a kid. I think it was called a "Magic Hoe" back then. Funny I don't recall her working in the yard at all??? Maybe she thought it worked by magic? Hilarious! But I have one It took some time to find one. I love it. But my blower still takes First Place as something I can't live without.
