Yeck, yeck to February weather. Bad storm working its way up the east coast. They are saying really bad things for the Atlanta Georgia area. Ice, ice and snow and more ice expected. Then it will work it's way north and here we are expecting 10 inches on Thursday. Of course that still could change to more. It never changes to less! Crying Grumbling

It actually got into the mid 70s today! The winter rye has escaped from the pastures and was growing about 18" tall around the house so I mowed (well, actually, shredded with the tractor) the yard for the first time since fall. It looks better despite my crude maintenance. The chickens and pigs were pleased to be thrown some of the clippings; their pastures are pretty bare. I hope this weather is the start of a new trend!

Found this video on Y-Tube which I thought was really cute. The dobie puppy is eating his dog chow but the three loose chickens get in on the act and steal food. Pup is a dream and only wants to play, not harm the birds.

Dobies are a breed I really like. That pup is so good too. He only wants to play some and looks so puzzled to find the chicken eating out of his bowl.

We had an early morning ground fog. All the cows and horses appeared to be drifting around in the moonlight with no legs.

I didn't know there was a Feb. thread...........it's convienient when the link for the new thread is at the end of the previous month. Just sayin'........... Green Grin!

It has been just downright ugly here since early January. The SU has 2 cattle waterers that are frozen and will be till the ground thaws. He's had to make 2 large groups of heifers instead of 6 small ones down in the heifer barn so they can utilize the one waterer that is still working. Lucky for all of us that it is in the middle of the groups, and not one on the end.

Leaving in a little bit to go to the venue where we will be milking all next week. NOT looking forward to that job; just hope the guy has made some improvements since last time, or we will not go back there again. And I told the SU that he is NOT working for $10/hr there this time, his rate was gonna go up as nobody should have to deal with what he had to last time for that paltry sum.

Had to work Equity Monday and Wednesday.........Mon. only 82 calves, but Wed. there were 237. Yesterday I was at a different sale barn that only has dairy sale; not too bad, I was there 1 3/4 hr.

I had missed the thread until just now. Lambing season has begun, so I started a thread on Cubits. Bookmark it. I will be adding to it daily most of the time for the next 3 weeks. http://cubits.org/bluegardens/...

Snow comes and goes. Today is a sunshine and bare ground, above freezing day!
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

The news here at my house is that I got a new puppy. Have not had a dog in about 25 years. Had cats since then, had Dobies way back when. This time I am far older than when I had the dobies and I knew I wanted a small breed. Did lots of research on line and decided on a Papillon.

So here is Lily, six month old female black and white Papillon. Got her yesterday.
