'Magical Encounter' is such a pretty blossom, but does it routinely flop over?

Rita, when you get one that routinely flops, do you brace it each year or get rid of it?

If it doesn't annoy me then I just leave it. I have found the really tall ones tend to flop. Not that the stems are necessarily weaker than other stems. Just being longer they tend to fall over.

We had a white NOID that seemed to have good stem strength. Large flower, heavy bloomer. Everything in the center of the clump stood fine but the ones on the outside edges drooped into the lawn. If they weren't cut for a vase I'd cut little forked sticks (think fishing) and wedge them into the clump to keep everything nice and tidy throughout the bloom.

I don't grow anything pink specifically but I bet my Mom would enjoy "Magical Encounter". She has a peachy pink NOID that she likes but after viewing the photos here it's not nearly as attractive.

Wes, I did that this year on a really tall purple, but the forked branchlet had already fallen nearby and was just waiting for me to be inspired. Big Grin

Thanks for letting me know about the flopping Rita. I really appreciate the information.
