Per the Flora of North America both plants can have red or white berries. The pedicel color looks like it may be a good indicator.

A. pachypoda:
Pedicel in fruit bright red, stout...berries white, very rarely red.

A. rubra:
Pedicel in fruit dull green or brown, slender...berries red or white.

Actaea rubra fits. A. pachypoda, as stated in the reference, has red stems in the berry cluster (pedicel).
