Way, way up the top of Mt Pilatus in Switzerland, in June this year, I snapped a photo of this beautiful plant that was growing in a very small grassy area in a very rocky ground. It was a cool sunny day. There were about 6 of the plants. Can anyone tell me what it is?

Looks to me like a Campanula of some sort.
It’s okay to not know all the answers.

Thanks guys, yes I agree it is a Gentiana acaulis. And quite close to the Campanula genus by the looks of it. Thanks for the reference link too Horntoad.

What a great plant, and cool habitat pic of it! Really enjoyed being a spectator for this one!

Well, not really - completely different family, though both with bell-shaped flowers. Smiling
