Beautiful spaces, Karen! I love the giant tomato cages...must try that. I'm going to show the dh your picture when he comes in. Next year he'll have a good idea of what I want. Thanks for posting that.

Bev, they're Texas tomato cages.

These are the cages I use - we built them several years ago, the only downside is storage but I just move them to one end of the garden during the winter. They're about 2 feet square and 5 feet tall. We use some heavy stakes (you can see one in the middle here) to anchor them, so they don't all tip over in the wind, and I put a tall stake inside to tie the plant to as needed, although for the most part the cage will pretty much hold it up.

Makes sense, Karen...it's all bigger in Texas, right?? Thanks for the link!

I like yours, too Sandy.

I think that the dh has some fencing that he bought for a project for our dd. When she ended up moving home, I seem to recall that he brought that home and stored it goodness knows where. I think it was pretty tall....Hummm! Maybe these pictures will get him on the project. Goodness knows, we need something sturdier and taller than the standard tomato cages we have.

Allison, we had the square ones from Gardener's Supply for the last couple of years and they didn't last long. These are much sturdier, but more expensive too. Mine are the medium sized ones.

well if they last.. I don't mind paying for something good.. think my gardeners are 4 years old.. and the connection points seem to be rusting out bad.. bad design with the cups that hold water maybe.. but they are strong
