Have you found the thread in the Houseplants forum re: Hoyas? It has 490 posts. I've made through about page 20 on reading the posts, so I'm only about halfway through. Lots of interesting information there.

How do I find that thread? I have tried the search button on the houseplant site but all I get is about 15 hits and only 2 have the word Hoya in it.

@Leda2 - Where you start your search in ATP, it will limit the results that are displayed depending where you are. For instance if you are in the forums area then it will only show forum results:

Thumb of 2014-12-17/vbprog/aad805

If you are in the plant database then it will show only database results:

Thumb of 2014-12-17/vbprog/e54868

But if you start your search from the home page it searches just about everything on the site. I see that a search for Hoya returns about 45 pages of results.

Thumb of 2014-12-17/vbprog/4530cc

Took me awhile to get that concept - but I like it. It lets me focus my searches if needed.

Ohh - and Welcome! Welcome!

Leda2,

I think a forum for Hoyas was suggested a couple of years ago but there may not have been enough interest among members to support a Hoya specific forum. Since most folks grow them as indoor plants (along with other houseplants) I suppose the best place for questions, discussing and sharing information would be the house plant forum. If you have questions you can start a thread on the Houseplant forum with the Subject "Hoya" and people will chime in with advice.

I don't get time to visit our "sister" site cubits.org (which is also a free site) anymore but it has a Hoya Forum (Hooked on Hoyas) but I'm not sure how active the forum is: http://cubits.org/Hoya/

Thank you everybody!!! I have heard that all the Hoya experts on now talking on some facebook sites. I really hate Facebook. Forums are much better because you can search for let's say, a type of plant or, type of medium to use. Can you imagine all the scrolling you have to do on Facebook to find an answer to your question, or the tedious questions that are asked over and over again by people like me because its almost impossible to find an answer. That is probably why most of the sites on Hoyas on Facebook are closed. I think they have made a grave mistake by going onto Facebook and not visiting sites like this one. Its OK if you want to talk among yourselves, but than you are not sharing your wisdom with others. So sad. Just my 2 cents worth about it all.

There will always be some people who prefer facebook or something else but I think the majority of people see the value of websites (like ATP) that are dedicated to a specific subject.
